The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced plans to pursue Renewable Energy in an effort to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and to contribute to a clean environment.
To contribute to these efforts, the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy (CoRE-RE) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals organised the 1st International Saudi Arabian Renewable Energy Conference & Exhibition. (SAREC&E). SAREC&E has covered a wide range of topics related to Renewable Energy research, technology development and technology transfer by international experts.
Among others, solar cooling was one of the “hot topics” and IEA SHC Task 48 was presented as well as the Solar cooling state of the art and challenges in a presentation made by the Task 48 OA, Daniel Mugnier.
